Some new trees for fall!

So Alexander, Astrid, and Artur Erlach gifted us with an apple tree :) We got it planted and got it a suitable companion for cross pollination :) Both trees got transplanted into their new homes yesterday. They still need some mulch, but that will come when the hardware store opens again on Monday :)

We also have fresh free range eggs available, $3/dozen. Visit our "contact us" page to reserve yours :)

Meet Fish

So Jon and I both agreed that we needed two cats (two spayed/neutered already vaccinated adult cats from a local rescue). That was before my mother and father in law went on a trip to Spencer's Island, where they found this wee thing in need of a home. She had been dumped at a family friend's house with her momma and brothers/sisters.

My mother in law messaged my husband and I on facebook asking if we wanted her. Jon was away chaperoning a trip for the exchange students, so I said that we'd have to wait until he got home before I could answer. Well, my inlaws were in a hurry and needed an answer straight away, so I said we'd take her, haha! When Jon found out about it he said we could only keep her if we named her fish (screenshots of the PM convo between Jon and I are included, haha). So here she is! Like most of our critters, her name is a bit of a pop-culture reference (link here: http://i.imgur.com/8lnVKwd.jpg ).

She has been vet-checked and is about 4-5 weeks old. She has been dewormed and tested for feline infectious leukemia (negative for FIL! :D), and she will receive her first set of vaccinations in a month's time when she is old enough.

She is a feisty wee thing and is fitting in fabulously to our crazy, busy, noisy, kid-filled home! Better pictures to come on the "Critters" page :)

I think I might have a wee gardener on my hands :D

House Renovations day 17-21

Well, it has been a while since I have updated! Things are finally coming together and we have the downstairs almost 100% finished :D We also welcomed our two exchange students, Dora (from Turkey) and Fabian (from Germany) on Sunday! We were without internet until this morning, but now we're back online :D Here are some photos of the most recent progress.

And a silver glitter outlet cover for Tova's room (the outlets need a good cleaning to get the paint off but I was too lazy to shut the power off and do it before taking the photo, haha)
